Today is cold, rainy, and gloomy, just the way I like it! I love snuggling up in bed with my laptop and catching up on previous Gossip Girl and Project Runway episodes. I love reading my favorite blogs without feeling rushed. And I love just being able to rewind and relax! Oh and not to mention, during my down time I realized that I looked cross-eyed in my facebook profile pic
(I had that picture up for 3 weeks and didn’t notice it until now!).
Cross-eyed
Not!
For lunch I ate some Korean sticky ricecakes stir-fried with bok choy.
Yum!
These days it seems that I can’t get enough of ricecakes! They are so versatile! Yesterday I had a different variety of ricecakes stir-fried with cabbage.
Sticky + Chewy = Delicious!
Anyways, today my dad asked me where he can buy “蝙蝠侠” which translates to “bat comic.” I’m like WTF is that? It turns out that he’s referring to the Batman comics and his friend’s son wants a copy. I don’t think my Chinese is THAT bad but I certainly feel that my language skills are severely lacking in the pop culture department. Another example is that I tried having a conversation with a Chinese girl about Hermès but it took me about 5 minutes to explain to her what the brand is. She immediately knew what I was talking about after I showed her the website. Do you guys speak another language? What types of language barriers do you face?
