Break Finally!!! Kind of… + A Confession

I hope everyone’s had a wonderful Christmas! I finally feel like I have time to relax now that it’s holiday break. I will be going into the city tomorrow to help out with the office move but it won’t be as crazy as last week! Perks of moving include finding little trinkets that make me smile.

Hello Kitty ready for winter!

Technically Russell found the scotch tape mini-shirt but I supplied the Hello Kitty :-) .

Anyways, those in the Tri-state area know that we’ve been hit with “Snowpocalypse.” I don’t think it’s that bad but I also lived in Chicagoland last winter so it’s completely subjective.

Can’t get out the back door!

Snowy pool

I was in charge of shoveling the path from the back door to the gate.

I made some ginger tea afterwards. I didn’t follow a particular recipe; I just chopped up about a third cup of ginger.  Seeped it into about 4-5 cups of boiling water. Added brown sugar and let the tea simmer for about half an hour.

It really clears your head!

Now it’s confession time. I’ve only told one other person about this (the locksmith at the new office – don’t ask lol) but… I haven’t purchased Dave’s Christmas gift yet! He’s flying in tomorrow night to Philly and I am planning on purchasing his gift on Wednesday while he is off at his interview. And… I still don’t know what to get him?!?! I have been told that men like Jack Spade and Manhattan Portage “stuffs” but I am completely and utterly lost in the man-o-sphere. Help!

What did you buy for the man in your life this year??? If you are a man, what’s on your wish list?

  1. Get him tickets for something you guys can do together? Like a musical, amusement park, zipline? Ski lift tickets?

    • That sounds like a great idea but I think the closest amusement park (6 Flags) is closed in the winter. A skiing trip sounds good but I’ve never ever skied! I’m intimidated!

  2. Well, Ryan likes fishing, so I got him:
    2011 California fishing license
Breathable Emerger Stocking-Foot Waders from LL Bean [for fishing]

And he’s been wanting a new one, so I also got a:
    Beard trimmer

  3. i recommend you get him what all men want… you know what that means!!!!!

    ;-P

  4. that is some serious snow!!.. treat him to a surprise date night with lots of little surprises!- spending time together is the best part and he wont know whats coming next!

  5. I bought Ali a much needed jacket. And then I returned it yesterday. Guys are so hard to buy for! Really what I should have done was hit Best Buy and purchase a totally useless gadget that either plugs in or runs on batteries. You can’t go wrong!

Hope the weather improves where you are…

  6. I usually try to find my boyfriend whatever hobbies he’s into at the time so that’s ranged from running shoes to full-sets of poker chips. Electronics and clothes are usually good ideas too!
